The Texas Healthcare & Bioscience Institute is composed of biotechnology, medical device, and pharmaceutical companies, universities and private research institutions, and companies that provide goods and services to core organizations. The goal of THBI is to develop solid information about the medical research and manufacturing community in Texas, and to make that information available to political leaders, the news media, venture capitalists, investment bankers, and the public.
The AusTech Alliance operates as part of the Austin Chamber's Technology Division with the goal of growing existing companies and attracting new technology companies. Regular meetings provide opportunities for technology based companies (including medical device and biotech) to network and develop strategies for proactive growth.
The Austin Technology Council (ATC) is a catalyst for innovation. The ATC's mission is to ensure that Austin continues to be a world-renowned technology community that thrives with outstanding university-based research, an entrepreneurial culture, venture funding, a broad array of support services, and a rich pool of intellectual talent and leadership. The ATC hosts regular meetings of the Austin Life Science Entrepreneurs providing informative programs and networking opportunities for life science related companies.
The TSBR is the only nonprofit organization in Texas dedicated to advocating the vital role of the humane care and use of animals in biomedical research. Founded in 1989, the TSBR provides the collective voice for the scientific community regarding the use of animals in research, education and consumer product evaluation. Working closely with our membership of public and private institutions and organizations, the TSBR promotes grassroots support among universities, medical/veterinary medical school(s), teaching hospitals, voluntary health organizations, professional societies, and other research-related entities.
TxAN is a broad alliance of organizations that strongly support advancing Texas' ability to research, develop and commercialize nanotechnology in research areas such as nanoelectronics, nanomaterials, nanostructures, and nanomedicine.
