As a division of the city of Austin's Economic Growth and Redevelopment Service Office, the Small Business Development Program is committed to providing opportunities and resources to small businesses to help them grow and prosper in a competitive business environment. The Program provides counseling and assistance to small businesses with a focus to develop and empower small businesses in order to strengthen their business capability and survivability.

The SCORE Association, headquartered in Washington, D.C., with a local Austin chapter, is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneurial education and the formation, growth and success of small businesses nationwide. Their public service mission is to provide face-to-face and email business counseling to help small businesses evaluate plans, stabilize, grow, innovate and succeed.
